Why does my lawn need lime every year?

Our annual rainfall leaches calcium and magnesium out of the soil, pushing pH down season after season. In this climate lime is ongoing maintenance rather than a one-time fix.

Will lime kill my moss?

Not directly. Lime removes the acidic conditions moss prefers and lets grass outcompete it. For heavy moss we combine lime with dethatching and overseeding.

Is lime safe around pets and kids?

Pelletized lime is a mineral soil amendment, not a pesticide. We ask that you stay off the lawn until it has been watered in, mostly so the pellets are not tracked indoors.
